Promoting Hyper in Uppsala

Two weeks ago we visited Grafiskt Utbildningscenter (GUC) in Uppsala, to talk to students about Hyper Island. Madde and I represented the Digital Media program and Rasmus the Karlskrona based Business Management program. We did this trip as a part of the Marketing & Promotion module, lots of fun!

Work shadows

Magda and I are spending our second day as work shadows at Smedby Digital, a small web agency here in Stockholm. So far it's been really interesting, a little awkward but interesting. Awkward in the sense that we're not really doing anything, just observing.

Getting ourselves an agency was a big challenge, I spent the entire Monday talking on the phone with different people from a bunch of agencies. Five o'clock in the afternoon we got in touch with Smedby Digital, all thanks to Madde! Gött mos! Later that evening I persuaded Fröjd to take a pair and via Jogge and Maja I think Erik and Jade will finally end up there. You can thank me later, Erik and Jade!

Right now we're not doing much, but this morning we got a presentation of the company and observed a brainstorming. I can't really say anything about the work that they're doing, but there is some pretty interesting stuff going on.

Two new modules and London

I'll start blogging in English from now on. Two new modules started this first semester of 2009; Marketing & Promotion and Specialization 1. During M&P we'll create ways to promote ourselves as a class and individually. For Specialization 1 I went with management, which proved to be an interesting choice: we'll do "work shadowing" in pairs at different agencies in Stockholm during five days, starting next week (hopefully). I'll get back to you on that.

Oh, and I read this article the other day from Wired.com on how cellphones will change how we listen to music. Just... something.

Oh, and I went to London with the boyf a couple of weeks ago! We had such a good time!

Here I am, trying my best to look distinguished at the Victoria & Albert museum.
